Russell Cowdrey

Russell Cowdrey is the author of the sci-fi and fantasy series Lamentations and Magic. When he was six, his mother told him to join two book clubs. Choosing the Sci-Fi/Fantasy and History book clubs ignited his passion for incredible stories by authors ranging from Asimov to Tolkien and his lifelong love of history.

As a native Texan and Aggie, he is a proud father of nine, grandfather of four, and devoted husband. For most of his professional life, he used his imagination to visualize and bring to market new software products. During the shutdown, his second straight software venture crashed and burned, giving him time to read more than he had in decades.

He devoured hundreds of books on Kindle Unlimited from many great self-published authors. Inspired by their success, Russell set out to write novels he would enjoy reading. The Lamentations and Magic series is a historical sci-fi series wrapped up in a fantasy blanket with elements of aliens, archaeology, military history, romance, and found family.

Fans of Indiana Jones, Stargate, and The Mummy movies—with Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz, not that abomination with Tom Cruise—will love the Lamentations and Magic series.
